Composite Rainscreen Systems
|
Residential Homes and Commercial Buildings
It is a common premise of modern engineering that it is far more
beneficial to work with nature than try to resist its influences. However,
the traditional solution to keeping rainwater out of buildings has been to
use the latter concept and provide walls that are fully sealed against the
weather by the use of barriers, joints and sealants. Unfortunately the
failure of such walls due to material degradation, poor workmanship and
unexpected building movements has been far too common an occurrence.
Rainscreen over cladding offers a solution that utilises the effects of
the wind to control rainwater and prevent it entering the building.
Easy to clean
The closed , non-porous surface ensures that practically no dirt
accretes. An organic detergent can be used for removing graffiti, for
instance, without the colour being affected in any way.

KPI Limited uses in its installations products of the very
highest quality from a number of the industries leading manufacturers
They include the following:
 |
|
Prodema
|
This is a high density panel composed of a thermosetting
phenolic resin-bonded cellulose fibre core faced with natural wood that
has been coated with an in house formulated acrylic resin PVDF protective
finish.
 |
|
Trespa
|
Trespa Meteon is a flat panel based on thermosetting
resins, homogeneously reinforced with wood fibres and manufactured under
high pressure and at high temperatures. Its integrated decorative surface
is based on pigmented resins, cured by electron beams.
Weather resistant
Trespa Meteon is extremely weather resistant. Sun, rain (even acid rain)
and moisture do not affect the surface or the core.
Colour fast
Trespa Meteon panelling is also resistant to the UV radiation in
sunlight.. This means that the colours will not change significantly for
at least ten years, even under the most severe climatic conditions, for
instance in heavily polluted industrial areas.

Rockpanel |
The unique vapour permeability of Rockwool Rockpanel©
products is enhanced by Rockclad’s aesthetic finish. Produced for
internal and external applications where a high performance cladding is
required, it’s ease of use adds a greater degree of versatility to any
specification. Rockclad, is manufactured from stonewool to give the
specifier and end user an added margin of safety in the event of a fire.
Due to its unique breathability, Rockclad can be used externally in non
ventilated construction to reduce the potential of the chimney effect
during a fire (especially when used in conjunction with Rockwool
Insulation). Rockclad’s vapour permeability also allows the construction
to breath, helping to reduce potential condensation risk.
Weatherboarding
Fibre cement Weatherboarding is the ideal low maintenance, rot-free
alternative to traditional timber weather boarding.
